Dear Parent/Carers of Harraton classes,

As part of the Discover Pathway based at Harraton, you will be aware that the ongoing building refurbishment has caused us ongoing delays. I am told that all work will be completed in the summer holidays, but in order for staff to access the building and set up the classroom resources, we have agreed with Sunderland's Director of Education, that Harraton will be closed to pupils until Monday 12th September.

As a staff, we are obliged to be part of 2 Prosper Trust training days (5th/6th September). Harraton will be open for staff on 7th/8th September and we are planning for parents/pupils to have a transition day on site on Friday 9th September. This will be an opportunity to meet the teachers and teams and have a look around the site. We have organised time slots for classes to reduce the number of children and families on site at one time.

Please see times below for Friday 9th September:
9:30 - Birch Class
10:30 - Cedar Class
11:30 - Elm Class
12:30 - Maple Class
1:30 - Oak Class
2:30 - Pine Class
3:30 - Willow Class

I apologise if this will cause any inconvenience, but am sure you will appreciate that the staff will be working hard to make Harraton an excellent provision for every pupil and that the closure days are essential to be fully prepared.

I thank you for your ongoing support,
Derek Cogle
Headteacher of Harry Watts Academy
