Elm Class' Spring term topic in Science is Horticulture and the pupils have been hard at work researching which flowers and vegetables they can start planting during this period. Gardening isn’t as easy some of them thought, discovering lots of plants need specific types of compost or soil to grow in. They also discovered some plants are grown from seeds, whilst others grow from bulbs or cuttings.

Together they planted a selection of seeds: onions, radishes, sweet peas and pea pods.

As part of an investigation, they also re-potted some spring onion cuttings to see whether they will regrow. Not only have they been busy doing this, they also planted some bedding plants in the planters around school to add some colour around the school grounds.
