Careers Trip at the Beacon of Light
Return to Latest News
On Friday, Cedar Class had a fantastic trip to the Beacon of light to explore careers and the world of work. The pupils started the day in the Nissan room where they explored what skills were needed for certain jobs and what 'transferable skills' meant. They then got to try their hand at the work stations. They tried using the drills and plugging and unplugging the electrics, it was quite easy until we were timed at it as one would be in the factory. Nobody caved under pressure though and everyone did really well.
After this, everyone had a packed lunch then used one of the courts for some fresh air and a game of football. Finally, they visited the gaming suite, where they used an amazing design program to create a character and write a story about the creation. It was a fabulous day, well done to Cedar Class and a huge thank you to Ronnie for inviting them.
