Children's Mental Health Bucket Time
Return to Latest News
Friday only means one thing in Ash Class: Bucket Time. Last week, they explored Children’s Mental Health Week alongside Puzzle Day. The activities were all about feelings, senses, and celebrating the things they love.
Stage 1 – What’s in the Box?
They kicked off with a sensory light, upbeat music, and confetti balloons. The children were mesmerised by the colours and movement, helping everyone tune in and focus.
Stage 2 – Sensory Cup
Next, they created a calming sensory cup using water, oil, and glitter. When the glitter swirled around, we talked about how their feelings can feel busy or overwhelming. As the glitter slowly settled, the pupils explored how taking a moment to pause can help their emotions settle too.
Stage 3 – Exploring Senses
Ash Class then explored some of our 5 senses. They used bubbles for sight, water for touch, tinsel for touch and lemons for taste. There were lots of giggles, curious faces, and brave taste‑testers.
Stage 4 – “What We Love” Puzzle
To finish, each child decorated their own puzzle piece with something they love. When they put them all together, they created one big puzzle celebrating the class community and the things that make them happy.
