Last week, the pupils enjoyed their Maths lesson as they learnt all about the Commutative Law. The pupils worked as a group and had to choose the correct number to match the other sum. This showed the teacher that the pupils understood that by switching the numbers round, it gave the same answer.

They also learnt on Tuesday why it's important to remember 11/11, why our soldiers went to war, and what the poppies stand for. The class designed and created their own poppies and displayed them around the class. All of the pupils took part in making a poppy to show their respect for their fallen soldiers.

On Wednesday, they discovered information about the Victorian times during History. The pupils watched a PowerPoint about how hard times were, especially for children who had to steal to survive.

Michael Rosen Day took place on Thursday, so Oak Class watched a live video of Michael reading some of his own poems and stories. With inspiration from Michael, as a class, they wrote and illustrated their own story called 'We're Going on an Acorn Hunt', as Oaky is their class mascot.

Oak Class's English lessons have been amazing as their new topic is 'A Christmas Carol'. They are using adjectives to describe the characters that they are learning about.

On Friday, they had a visit from Pudsey, and their assembly was all about Children in Need and why it is so important that they know about it. For their Enrichment lesson, the pupils used card and soft paper to cut and stick them onto their own Pudsey drawings.
