Writing For Purpose: Halloween Special

Last week, Elm Class began writing for purpose by creating a list of instructions for a recipe.

Before the pupils could do this effectively, they first watched a cooking tutorial to see the step-by-step guide to making some Halloween party food. Then, they used the information to create their own step-by-step recipe sheet.

After they had completed the English task, they then linked it to their Life Skills lesson to put the instructions into practice by following each step to prepare and bake some culinary treats.

As you can see by the photographs, everyone really enjoyed the lessons and were rewarded with spooky treats all round.
