The sun was shining as Maple Class embarked on a wonderful trip to the beautiful Gibside National Park. The pupils had a fabulous time negotiating the map to follow the scenic routes around the park, which led them through the dense wooded areas. This certainly created a sense of adventure.

After their first walk, they found a lovely courtyard which has historically been home to racehorses and carriage driving horses, but is now a tourist information point and cafe. The pupils enjoyed ice cream, drinks, and lollies.

Next, they followed the route to the den-building area and worked as a team to find suitable logs and sticks to create a den. For lunch, everyone sat in the play area; the pupils were then able to access the play equipment, where they had a lot of fun.

Finally, to end the day, they all headed to the park shop for cool drinks and had the opportunity to visit the on-site book shop. Everyone had a glorious day!
