Last Friday, Harry Watts Academy held their very first Prom. The class of 24/25 are the first-ever leavers, and the school wanted to give them a Prom to remember.

The hall looked amazing with a black and gold theme, and a beautiful balloon arch to take pictures in front of. Everyone started outside to meet and greet the pupils and have some wonderful photographs taken by Liam Cummings (Liam Cummings Photography). They then moved into the hall and participated in a few dances before sitting for the speeches and awards, where the pupils were awarded their Record of Achievements.

Class teachers Sarah and Martin spoke warmly about the year they'd had, as well as the pupils' progression from Year 7 to Year 11. There were quite a few tears from the pupils, parents, and indeed the staff as they all geared up to say goodbye to our first leavers. They all enjoyed a lovely buffet after the speeches and a beautiful cake to commemorate the evening.

Finally, everyone got to enjoy the music, which was supplied by DJ Tony Hutchinson, and danced with their friends. A huge thank you to everyone who helped set this event up, including Estelle and Charlotte (C&K Dream Designs Co) for the amazing balloon displays.

It truly was a night to remember, and everyone hopes that the pupils and their families have memories to treasure for years to come. Everyone at Harry Watts Academy wishes the wonderful Year 11s all the best for the future, and encourage them to come back to visit.
