Visit to Chain Bridge Honey Farm
Return to Latest News
Willow Class had a lovely trip to the Scottish borders to visit Chain Bridge Honey Farm. After working on the topic of Bees at school, they decided to see them in person. At the farm, the pupils witnessed how bees are kept and how they produce honey. There is a small honey factory on-site, where you can see the honey put into jars ready for shipment.
The pupils enjoyed a walk around the gift shop and saw a wide range of honey products. They sampled many different types of honey. Then, they visited the on-site museum, which had a wide range of antique items from TVs to motorbikes. There were also lots of old farming machines and an old London bus. Everyone loved having a look around the bus.
Then, they all walked down to the chain bridge, which spans from Northumberland to Scotland. The pupils walked across the bridge over to the Scottish border side and found it amusing that the bridge moved. They ended their visit with packed lunches at Honeybee Farm.
Everybody said that they had enjoyed their day out.
