Duke of Edinburgh Expedition 2025

Birch Class had an absolutely fantastic time on their Duke of Edinburgh Expedition last week. Staff couldn’t be prouder of the pupils. The trip started on a high with a kayaking activity at Adventure Sunderland. The pupils took turns as Kayak captains and had lots of laughs trying to go in the right direction. After kayaking, the class persevered through the rain to complete the first walking expedition.

At the campsite, Birch Class showed their amazing independent skills by cooking noodles, burgers, and bacon sandwiches on the camping stoves for their tea and breakfast. The treats didn’t end there though, with some takeaway pizza in the evening and some smores around the campfire before bed.

Finally, they smashed the final day, packing up the entire campsite and completing their second expedition walk. The trip ended perfectly with some chips and ice cream at Roker Beach. Everyone already can’t wait until next year!
