Time for Tea!

This past week has been another busy week in Elm Class. We are really enjoying our new book in English, ‘A Christmas Carol’ and even got to watch a little of the old movie (we weren’t impressed with the special effects in the 1970s!). In Science we got to make our own tea bags. We made predictions on which materials would work best to diffuse the tea and then experimented with them and recorded the outcome. We worked so well that we then had time to have a walk to the local shop and buy some biscuits to have with fresh tea back once in class. We took turns going into the shop, working out how much we would need for each packet of biscuits and what change we would receive. Once back in class we made our own tea and were really careful and sensible around the hot water. Brilliant life skills in Elm Class, and the following day one of our students told us that he had made his own tea for breakfast and that it was the best cup of tea he had ever tasted!
