Panther Class Make a Frobscottle Potion!

To celebrate Roald Dahl day in Panther Class, we made our own frobsgottle potion. We started the lesson by watching some short video clips from the BFG. We found them very funny and, in some places, a little disgusting. One of our young people shouted, ‘Gross!’ as they laughed at the ‘Frobscottle’ scene from the BFG. As a group, we made our own frobsgottle potion. We loved the sound the magic bottle made as we popped the lid off. We took turns when telling each other what we thought the different coloured liquids could be. Some suggestions included dark green leaf juice, honey, and orange juice. We then watched and waited as our friends mixed the liquids and glitter, we were amazed that the potion kept changing colour and we loved swirling it around to watch the moving glitter. When we had added all of our liquid, we added shaving foam, and were shocked to see the bubbles in our potion moving downwards to the bottom of the bottle instead of upwards – just like the BFG’s frobscottle potion from the film!
