Tiger Class Visit Souter Lighthouse!

Tiger Class have had a lovely time visiting Souter Lighthouse as part of our Topic ‘Lighthouses’. In English, we have been enjoying the story of the Lighthouse Keeper’s Lunch, and were able to compare the role of a Lighthouse Keeper at Souter Lighthouse to that of Mr Grinling in the story. In History, we have been learning about the life of Grace Darling, and were able to imagine what it would be like to work in a lighthouse whilst living in the lighthouse cottage. We climbed all the way to the top of the lighthouse and enjoyed looking out the window at the sea, just as Grace Darling would have done. We enjoyed visiting the engine room and asked some very interesting questions about how the engines power the lighthouse.
