Oak Class pupils and staff thoroughly enjoyed a wonderful trip to South Shields on Thursday 7th May in relation with their new topic in English. The pupils wanted to find out some information in preparation to make their own holiday brochures/leaflets to promote this interesting destination.

The pupils firstly visited the South Shields beach where they experienced the beautiful sandy beach, with its sand dunes and shimmering blue sea. They made sandcastles and even worked together where the dug a hole as big as deep as a mine. After this, they then walked around the fair taking photos of all of the rides to show how much fun travellers could have whilst there.

Once this was completed, the pupils went over to the park where they saw the big lake where all the swans and ducks where swimming around. They found a perfect spot to have their lunch, taking lots of photos to add to their brochures/leaflets. However, all of a sudden a naughty seagull came out of nowhere and pinched one of the pupils' apple, and everyone could not stop laughing. The pupils decided that they would add a warning in their brochures/leaflets letting travellers know of this.

To end the day, Oak Class had the chance to play on the park where they agreed that South Shields was definitely a place to experience if you are looking for a fun day trip out.
