This week, Willow Class visited Arebeia Roman Fort, which tied in with their work this term. Whist at the fort, the pupils gained lots of information about why the Romans built the fort, who lived there and when it was built.

The pupils found it fascinating to think that they were walking where Romans had walked, worked and lived. A few of them found a funny fact of how the Romans used to sit side by side to use the toilet. They collected lots of leaflets of things to do in the surrounding area, this will tie in with future work. Then, they visited the Customs house and had their lunch at a nearby cafe next to South Shields Ferry dock.

Everyone said that they all had an amazing day.
